Announcements:

Monday 10/31 - Sponsor a Day Fundraiser calendars are due. Try to get it full!
Friday 11/4 - Non-Traditional Learning Day - We will not have class at school on this day, however, there will be a few assignments sent home to work on. Please return those on Monday, November 7th.
Monday 11/7 & Tuesday 11/8 - NLCA is in session on these days.
Friday 11/11 - Veteran's Day - No School
November 21-25 - Thanksgiving Break

I am sending home a new format of reading log. Make sure those are filled out every evening (three nights a week) that your child reads. They must be returned at the beginning of each week and will be counted as a grade.

Tests This Week:

Wednesday - Math Test 9
Thursday - Phonics Test 10; Spelling Test List 10; Writing Test 8

Homework Policy

In second grade, homework is typically limited to Reading, Spelling, and Bible. However, if classwork is not completed by the end of the day, it must be completed at home for homework. Additionally, it is important for students to practice math facts. This can be done during car rides or playing board games with dice. Make it fun!
Reading - Students will be expected to read 3 nights a week and fill out a reading log.
Spelling - A new list of words will be assigned each week. We will practice these words in class, however, studying at home will help prepare for weekly tests. Students may write out their list at home and bring it back to be counted as bonus points toward their test. One point will be awarded per written list and up to 5 bonus points will be counted toward their test.
