Announcements:

Reading logs are due MONDAY!
There will be a basketball tournament in our gym on Thursday and Friday. If your child would like to purchase something from the concession stand, please send some cash and we will walk over as a class on FRIDAY and allow them to buy their goodies.

Tuesday 2/20 - Math Test 19, Writing Test 18
Wednesday 2/21 - Phonics Test 20
Thursday 2/22 - Practice Spelling Test List 21
Friday 2/23 - Spelling Test List 21, Bible Test Matthew 5:5-6 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Homework Policy

In second grade, homework is typically limited to Reading, Spelling, and Bible. However, if classwork is not completed by the end of the day, it must be completed at home for homework. Additionally, it is important for students to practice math facts. This can be done during car rides or playing board games with dice. Make it fun!
Reading - Students will be expected to read 3 nights a week and fill out a reading log.
Spelling - A new list of words will be assigned each week. We will practice these words in class, however, studying at home will help prepare for weekly tests. Students may write out their list at home and bring it back to be counted as bonus points toward their test. One point will be awarded per written list and up to 5 bonus points will be counted toward their test.
