Announcements:

Tuesday 10/24 - Permission slips and money due for pumpkin patch field trip
Wednesday 10/25 - End of 1st nine weeks
Friday 10/27 - Elementary trip to the pumpkin patch

Tests:

Tuesday 10/24 - Math Test 6
Wednesday 10/25 - Phonics Test 7; Writing Test 5
Thursday 10/26 - Spelling Test List 8

Please work on saying John 14:1-6, all together. That test will be on November 3rd. Also, please work on math facts at home so the students won't need to rely on counting fingers to find sums and differences.

Homework Policy

In second grade, homework is typically limited to Reading, Spelling, and Bible. However, if classwork is not completed by the end of the day, it must be completed at home for homework. Additionally, it is important for students to practice math facts. This can be done during car rides or playing board games with dice. Make it fun!
Reading - Students will be expected to read 3 nights a week and fill out a reading log.
Spelling - A new list of words will be assigned each week. We will practice these words in class, however, studying at home will help prepare for weekly tests. Students may write out their list at home and bring it back to be counted as bonus points toward their test. One point will be awarded per written list and up to 5 bonus points will be counted toward their test.
