May 14 - NLCA in Session (Election Day)
May 15 - NLCA Talent Show 12:45 p.m.
May 17 - 2nd Grade FIELD TRIP to the park and Fat Eddie's (permission slips will go home on Monday)
May 21 - Awards Day (1:30 in the classroom) and Principals' Luncheon
May 22 - End of Year Event
May 27 - Memorial Day

Tests:

Monday - Phonics Test 31, Math Test 30, Writing Test 30
Thursday - Math Test 31, Writing Test 31, Spelling Test List 32 (No practice test this week)
Friday - Phonics Test 32, Bible Test Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. (Fill in the blank with word bank)

Homework Policy

In second grade, homework is typically limited to Reading, Spelling, and Bible. However, if classwork is not completed by the end of the day, it must be completed at home for homework. Additionally, it is important for students to practice math facts. This can be done during car rides or playing board games with dice. Make it fun!
Reading - Students will be expected to read 3 nights a week and fill out a reading log.
Spelling - A new list of words will be assigned each week. We will practice these words in class, however, studying at home will help prepare for weekly tests. Students may write out their list at home and bring it back to be counted as bonus points toward their test. One point will be awarded per written list and up to 5 bonus points will be counted toward their test.
