  • Wednesday 9/13 - Phonics Test 1 (Phonics tests will be based on information learned in the classroom)
  • Thursday 9/14 - Spelling PRACTICE Test List 2
  • Friday 9/15 - Spelling List 2, Bible Genesis 1:3-4 "And God said, Let there be light; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness."
It seems as if we've had a rough start to our year, but the kids seem to be adapting well. There are a couple of issues that we need to improve on and it would help if you could discuss this with your children. They need to know if they are having hot or cold lunch so we can give an accurate count to the cafeteria staff. Also, chatting and wandering around the room when they have been instructed not to, is becoming a problem. I have had this discussion with them, but I feel like it would help if they were told at home, as well.

The first reading log will go home with your child on Monday and they will be due on Monday, September 11th. Please be sure that your child reads at least THREE nights a week for 20 minutes each evening.

  • KJV Bible to keep in the classroom
  • Plastic Folder
  • Pencil Pouch
  • Headphones for classroom iPad use
  • Ruler with inches and centimeters
  • Scissors
  • Glue Sticks (three)
  • Pencils (please, no mechanical pencils)
  • Pencil Top Erasers/Pink Erasers
  • 24 Pack of crayons or colored pencils
  • 2 Boxes of Tissues
  • 1 Container of Clorox/Lysol wipes

  • Monday 5/15 - NLCA Talent Show at 1:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday 5/16 - Marathon Scholars 8:15 a.m.
  • Thursday 5/18 - This will be our class party day and we will be having a "GLOW PARTY"! Feel free to send your kids to school wearing something neon so they will glow under the black lights. We will also be presenting class awards at 1:30 p.m. that day and we would love to have you there!
    • If at all possible, please send $5.00 to help cover the cost of their goodies for the day. 
  • Friday 5/19 - END OF YEAR PARTY and Food Truck Sales 10:00 - 2:00. Come spend the day with us!

It's testing week! Be sure your kiddos get plenty of rest and a good breakfast. Also, if you would like to send a snack for them, that would be perfectly fine.

The NLCA Talent Show will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m..

READING LOGS are due on Monday. This is the last one for the year!

We will be taking a field trip on Friday to Fat Eddie's and the Roadside Park. Permission forms will be sent home. Please return them ASAP.

  • REMOTE LEARNING DAY FRIDAY, APRIL 28th! - Packets were sent home with your children. They need to have those completed and turned in on Monday morning.
  • Monday 5/8 - Wednesday 5/10 - End of year testing - Please make sure your children are well-rested and present for these days.
