Important Dates:

February 2-6 - HOMECOMING **
February 16 - Professional Development Day - No Students
February 18 - Parent/Teacher Conferences and Spring Pictures
March 11 - Professional Development Day - No Students, End of 3rd Nine Weeks

❄ Your child is coming home with two snow packets. They must do the one dated 1/20/26 and return it the next time school is in session. The second packet needs to be completed IF we have a snow day on Monday and returned on our next day back. Please message me if you have any questions about their assignments. ❄

**During Homecoming, each class will be doing a service project. Second grade will be collecting items that could be used at the animal shelter. Such items include: dog/cat food, cat litter, cleaning supplies, etc.. Please start sending these items as soon as possible. **

Homework Policy

In second grade, homework is typically limited to Reading, Spelling, and Bible. However, if classwork is not completed by the end of the day, it must be completed at home. Additionally, it is important for students to practice math facts. This can be done during car rides or playing board games with dice. Make it fun!
Reading - Students will be expected to read 3 nights a week and fill out a reading log.
Spelling - A new list of words will be assigned each week. We will practice these words in class, however, studying at home will help prepare for weekly tests. Students may write out their list at home and bring it back to be counted as bonus points toward their test. One point will be awarded per written list and up to 5 bonus points will be counted toward their test.
