Our first full week is behind us already! I have a great group of kiddos in my classroom and I can't wait to see how much progress they make this year!

Just a few announcements for the coming week:

  •     Make sure your child is reading at least three nights a week and document it on the reading log that was sent home.
  • The first spelling list is in their folders. Make sure they practice at home. If they write their list and bring it back to me, it is worth one bonus point on the test. They can write it up to five times for five bonus points. We will have a practice test on List 1 on Wednesday (if your child scores 100% then he/she will not be required to take the test on Thursday).
  • Other tests this week:
    • Wednesday - Phonics Test 1
    • Friday - Bible Test on Genesis 1:1-2

SEE YOU ON MONDAY!

Friday, August 19, 2022

We made it the first two days! Your kids are amazing and I am thrilled to have them in my class this year! I will update my blog every Friday so you will have the information you need for the following week.

I have just a few things for this week:

  •     Send back your child's "All About Me" poster so we can hang them in the room. When it is your child's turn, they are welcome to bring a favorite book to read, toy to show, and snack to share. It's a fun week for the kiddo in the spotlight!
  • If you would like to send snacks, you may do so at any time. Please make sure they are non-perishable. I will not be making a schedule, so feel free to send them when you would like.
  • I would like to encourage you to send a water bottle with your child everyday so they won't need to visit the fountain.
  • A brief reminder about the dress code:

Shorts should be no shorter than two inches above the knee while standing. Shorts/Pants are not to be form-fitting (bicycle or aerobic shorts, etc.).

  • I expect my students to read at home at least three nights a week. I will be sending home a reading log on Monday for the rest of August. September reading logs may have your kids reading in some pretty strange places, but I believe they will enjoy it.

  • Be sure to check your child's folder for important forms that need returned.

HAVE AN AMAZING WEEKEND!!
