• Thursday 10/20 - We are taking a field trip to Summersville Fire Dept. to learn about fire safety. Afterward, we will be doing the pumpkin scavenger hunt that is hosted by Summersville Baptist Church, followed by lunch. Look for a permission form with more information early next week.

There will not be a spelling test this week since we have two days scheduled with special activities. We will still practice List 6 in class and I will be grading the book work that they complete.

Over the next few weeks, we will be memorizing John 14:1-6 for our Bible class and I will be taking participation grades as we study and learn. I will announce when we will be taking the test for these verses, but please make sure they are practicing at home. I always found it very helpful to read it to a child a couple of times before they go to bed. You would be amazed by the way these kids can memorize scripture!

• The Scholastic Book Fair will be at NLCA beginning on Monday, September 19th and will last all week. The class will be going down for about 20 minutes during the day to shop, however, if you would like to come in and look with your child, you may do so Monday - Thursday from 3:00 - 3:30.
• Parent/Teacher Conferences will take place on Tuesday, September 20th. If you would like to schedule a meeting with me, please call the office at 304-872-1148 to secure a time after school.
• See You At The Pole is on Wednesday, September 28th.
• Grandparent's Day will be celebrated on October 7th. I will be reaching out to you to let you know what we will need for our presentation.
