Good afternoon! We have a busy week ahead of us as we will be having our normal classroom days and will be preparing for Homecoming 2022. Remember, the order forms and money for Homecoming t-shirts are due this Monday.

Please make sure to log your child onto startpracticing.com for that extra practice that they will need.

Young Writer’s entries are due TUESDAY. This is a requirement for all second grade students.

We are running low on bottled water in our classrooms, if anyone would like to drop off a case, that would be wonderful!

Tests this week:
    Monday - Writing Test 15
                     Spelling PRACTICE Test List 18
    Tuesday - Phonics Test 17
                     Math Test 16
                     Spelling Test List 18
Friday - Bible Test on Psalm 121:1-2

February 7-11

Theme Song: Power by Chris Tomlin

The theme for Homecoming is
“There is Power in the Name of Jesus”

We are using the theme verse as our memory verse for Bible class so we will be able to say it loud and proud when the time comes!

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.  My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2

Our class will be able to earn points throughout the week by participating in various activities:

• Classes will need to memorize the Bible verse and be ready to recite it anytime the spirit stick appears in their classroom!
• We will prepare a song for the lip sync competition at the pep rally.
• Dress for spirit days…these points add up
• Help collect money for “Spot the Dot.”   It is a fundraiser where we sell “dots” to decorate the outside of our door.  The more dots, the more points!

An overall point winner from the secondary and an overall point winner from the elementary will be gifted a lunch off campus to the restaurant of their choice.

The overall DOT winner will earn a pizza party for their class and a movie afternoon!

I will post information about the theme days at the end of the week.
