Monday is Valentine’s Day and we will be having a little party around 1:30. Here is a list of names for the students in second grade for exchanging valentines: Kameron, Shelby, Ethan, Liam and Keara.

There will be a 2 hour early dismissal on Wednesday.

It’s time for parent-teacher conferences again, if you would like to schedule a time to come in and discuss your child’s progress, please let me know.

Tuesday- Writing Test 17

Wednesday- Phonics Test 19

Thursday- Math Test 18

Practice Spelling Test List 20

Friday- Spelling Test List 20

Homework Policy

In second grade, homework is typically limited to Reading, Spelling, and Bible. However, if classwork is not completed by the end of the day, it must be completed at home for homework. Additionally, it is important for students to practice math facts. This can be done during car rides or playing board games with dice. Make it fun!
Reading - Students will be expected to read 3 nights a week and fill out a reading log.
Spelling - A new list of words will be assigned each week. We will practice these words in class, however, studying at home will help prepare for weekly tests. Students may write out their list at home and bring it back to be counted as bonus points toward their test. One point will be awarded per written list and up to 5 bonus points will be counted toward their test.
