Important Dates:

February 10 - 15 - HOMECOMING Our class will receive points for dressing up during Spirit Week. Have fun with it! We will also be having our "Penny Wars" so bring in pennies for our class and save the silver change to sabotage other classes.
February 17 - Professional Learning Day - No School
February 19 - Parent/Teacher Conferences
March 13 - End of Third Nine Weeks
April 14-21 - Spring Break - NO SCHOOL
April 22 - Return to School

Tests:

Tuesday - Math Test 18
Wednesday - Phonics Test 19
Thursday - Writing Test 17, Practice Spelling Test List 22
Friday - Spelling Test List 22, Bible Test (We didn't get to take it last week) Hebrews 11:16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

Homework Policy

In second grade, homework is typically limited to Reading, Spelling, and Bible. However, if classwork is not completed by the end of the day, it must be completed at home. Additionally, it is important for students to practice math facts. This can be done during car rides or playing board games with dice. Make it fun!
Reading - Students will be expected to read 3 nights a week and fill out a reading log.
Spelling - A new list of words will be assigned each week. We will practice these words in class, however, studying at home will help prepare for weekly tests. Students may write out their list at home and bring it back to be counted as bonus points toward their test. One point will be awarded per written list and up to 5 bonus points will be counted toward their test.
