Dates to Remember:

March 31 - READING LOGS DUE!
April 14-21 - Spring Break - NO SCHOOL
April 22 - Return to School
April 24 - Parent/Teacher Conference

Please Note the Date Change for Achievement Testing. We will test on the following days:
April 22, 29 & 30
May 1, 6 & 8
The unusual amount of missed school due to weather has caused us to move the testing to a later day.

Tests:

Monday - Math Test 25 (We will review, first), Writing Test 24
Tuesday - Phonics Test 26
Thursday - Practice Spelling Test List 29
Friday - Math Test 26, Spelling Test List 29, Bible Test Matthew 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Homework Policy

In second grade, homework is typically limited to Reading, Spelling, and Bible. However, if classwork is not completed by the end of the day, it must be completed at home. Additionally, it is important for students to practice math facts. This can be done during car rides or playing board games with dice. Make it fun!
Reading - Students will be expected to read 3 nights a week and fill out a reading log.
Spelling - A new list of words will be assigned each week. We will practice these words in class, however, studying at home will help prepare for weekly tests. Students may write out their list at home and bring it back to be counted as bonus points toward their test. One point will be awarded per written list and up to 5 bonus points will be counted toward their test.
