Important Dates:

10/10 - Grandparents Day at NLCA (brunch starts at 10:00 and students will be released after the program)
10/15 - End of 1st 9 weeks
10/21 - Picture retakes
10/24 - Field Trip to Gritt's Farm (details will be given as they become available)

Tests This Week:

Wednesday - Math Test 4, Writing Test 3
Thursday - Phonics Test 5, Practice Spelling Test List 5
Friday - Spelling Test List 5, Bible Test Genesis 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Homework Policy

In second grade, homework is typically limited to Reading, Spelling, and Bible. However, if classwork is not completed by the end of the day, it must be completed at home. Additionally, it is important for students to practice math facts. This can be done during car rides or playing board games with dice. Make it fun!
Reading - Students will be expected to read 3 nights a week and fill out a reading log.
Spelling - A new list of words will be assigned each week. We will practice these words in class, however, studying at home will help prepare for weekly tests. Students may write out their list at home and bring it back to be counted as bonus points toward their test. One point will be awarded per written list and up to 5 bonus points will be counted toward their test.
